![]() ![]() I understand how and why this needed to be done, but it was a difficult text for lower high school ESL learners obviously. Our (my students and I) favorite chapter had the Russian Revolution, both World Wars, the Great Depression, and introductory content to the Cold War all in the same chapter. For the most part he was successful, but additional texts and insight is obviously needed. As I read this book and as I am writing the review I have to/had to keep in mind the author attempted to write the history of the world in less than 1000 pages. Used this as a textbook for my 10th grade AP World History class. Negative- Stresses American history and American point of view, Can have American bias, handful of inaccuracies and contradictions discovered Good- Gives big picture, has informative people profiles, easy division of time periods and locations, informative section and chapter summaries, gives additional source options Used this as an AP World History Textbook for an International School in Brazil for 2nd year in a row. 2015-16 School Year Review (by Students). ![]()
